Section VI:

The fire starts with Mrs. Trescott and Jimmie in the house. Henry is on his way home. Hannigan calls to Mrs. Trescott and has to go into the house to rescue her from the top of the stairs. “Save Jimmie” she screams repeatedly.  Henry, moving fast in his lavender pants, steals past Hannigan and Mrs. Trescott, deeper into the house, to find and save Jimmie.

The section ends in suspense. Will Henry save Jimmie? This section, more importantly, makes Henry into a hero. Even if he does not save Jimmie, he has run into a burning house to save his employer’s son.
